I am a doula and my path to an occupation involving pregnant women was not as straightforward as one might presume. Initially I was only fascinated by ayurvedic medicine and yoga, since they both apply an alternative holistic approach to a human being. I decided I had to study these practices in the country of their origin and so my journey begun in India.
When I got back to Slovakia I realized, that any alternative methods of care for women during pregnancy were practically unknown at that time. This lack of care was one of the reasons why I decided to specialize in pregnancy and postnatal yoga.
I would like to thank all the pregnant women and mothers for the progress they had helped me to achieve ever since. Every one of them is an ongoing inspiration for me to educate myself as much as I can, share useful information and positive energy.
I am proud to count among my teachers the following great people: Valeria Almarales (Germany, pregnancy yoga and postnatal yoga), Vicky Pandian (India, pregnancy yoga), Katherine Graves (England, Hypnobirthing), Michel Odent a Liliana Lammers (England, paramana doula course), Bharath Shety (India, yoga), Jodi Boone (India, pregnancy yoga and postnatal yoga), Corinna Stahlhofen (India, pregnancy yoga and postnatal yoga).
I have also had the privilege to attend lectures and workshops at the Midwifery Today Conference 2015 led by personalities such as Gail Tully (founder of the Spinning Babies method), Debra Pascali-Bonaro (producer and director of the movie Orgasmic Birth), Robin Lim (founder of Yayasan Bumi Sehat, CNN hero of the year 2011), Elizabeth Davis, Fernando Molina, Angelina Martinez Miranda and many other inspirational people. I am very grateful for the opportunity of meeting all these great people in person and being able to learn from the best.
